OFET: To save the environment and our seas - Our responsibility and duty ‘‘Clean seas in the island called Greece’’ a title under which the aforementioned EBEN guide is presented, it is not a mere confession or a hope, or an expectation. It is a whole philosophy, a culture, a way of life. At least this is how all of us in the Tsetis Pharmaceutical Group of Companies (OFET ) we perceive it, alongside with the pharmaceutical industries Uni-pharma, InterMed and the commercial company Pharmabelle in Cyprus. Our bioclimatic plant leads the way... Awareness about environmental and recycling issues permeates the culture of all OFET companies, which are characterized and governed by a strong environmental and ecological conscience demonstrated in best practice, inside and outside OFET Group. Specifically, at the premises of the Group’s units, recycling programmes are being imlemented, with the participation of all employees and via the use of special recycling bins that have thus been placed in the context of actions by ‘U &I Green- Unipharma & Intermed’. The spearhead of the Group’s philosophy is undoubtedly the ‘green’ bioclimatic factory of Unipharma, a state-of-the-art unit all over Europe, that was created during the years of greek economic crisis and austerity. With the appropriate energy orientation and high-technology, the impressive Uni-pharma factory shows the road to growth and also evolution, as well as the next day for Greece. YES, Together we CAN save our seas and our Environment! For second year in a row, the Green team of the Group’s (OFET) employees, a real dream team, travelled in June 2019 to two Greek islands (Mykonos and Tinos), in order to clear the seas and shores from plastic under the motto “Save the sea”. Green Team of OFET, in collaboration with the NGO “All for Blue” cleaned seas and shores and sent the message that all together we can and must protect our big HOME which is the ENVIRONMENT and the SEAS. The above actions have been designed and are boosted by the Top Management itself of the Group, headed by Mrs Julia and Eirini Tsetis. The Top Management of OFET is always by the side of actions that aim in strengthening and protecting the environment, since they consider that its protection is our duty and responsibility not only for the society and the economy, but also for the next generations. The power of individual initiatives, of team efforts and overall awakening taking into account environmental risks -at international level -can save the planet. After all, Uni-pharma and InterMed are the only pharmaceutical industries - among 30 in Greece - that are proud members of the UN Global Compact Network since 2016 and founding members of the Global Compact Network Hellas. Among their targets are the promotion of the UNGC principles and commitment for actions towards the completion of the 17 goals of Sustainability in the fields of human rights, employment relationships, the environment and the fight against corruption, the promotion of the practice of responsible entrepreneurship and the motivation of businesses in the contribution of the realization of the aims for sustainable development and climate change. Climate change is known to have already brought big changes in humanity, tragic changes that we already witness, like uncontrollable fires, floods, ice melting. Hence, all of us in OFET Group we promote Responsibility, Team spirit and Ethics, in order to turn wrong mentalities into right and move forward.
