609 ENCYCLOPEDIA OF EUROPEAN WOMEN'S CLUB COMPETITIONS 1958 2024 RESULTS INTRODUCTION 12,138 GAMES IN 66 SEASONS Our results database provides a rich source of information. Detailed statistics for each game were only introduced during the early 1990’s. Until then, the only source for more detailed results were the handwritten scoresheets of each game. There you could find the date and site of game, the final results, half-time and quarter results, overtime(s) played, player names and numbers, points scored per player, free throw percentage and fouls. As mentioned in the club section, in the early days of Women’s European Club Competitions, FIBA had to deal with very limited resources, and communication amongst stakeholders was complicated. One can only imagine what kind of challenges the very few FIBA staff and the clubs faced with travel, visa restrictions and the basic communication tools available at the time. It was therefore not a surprise, that in the early years there were several games that were not played, and decided by forfeit. For this results section we have decided to list the 12,138 games in chronological order by season and competition. We list the Date of the game, Name of City and Country where a game was played, Name of the Home Club, Name of the Visiting club, and Final Result. For the country codes and competition codes used, please refer to page 608. Slavia Sofia, a champion team in 1959 and 1963, was the only club to break TTT Riga's early dominance and are pictured after their victory in the first edition of the competition.
